One of the greatest traps is to believe that phones are not necessary for a job search. It is easy to see why some might come to this belief. For quick messages to a single contact, we have texts. E-mail and social networking can be used to send out mass invitations and inquiries. Your friends may be content with these forms of communication, but do professionals, who may hire you for your first job, agree? Based on how many job search engines there are, the answer may seem like a resounding "yes." However, personal experience has taught me that even the internet's vast landscape of information and resources needs to be supplemented by old-fashioned phone calls if you hope to have any lucking finding a job or internship.
